Curious Meerkat is a science blog run by Claire Asher, covering topics ranging from medicine to conservation, and from evolution to biotechnology. Here I aim to produce interesting, engaging science content that is accessible but also accurate. This is all available on my site completely free, with the small caveat that I might occasionally make a small amount of money if you click on a sponsored link (which are few and far between). Running Curious Meerkat takes time and money, so I’d be thrilled if you felt like contributing – you can now support Curious Meerkat from just $1 per month on Patreon.

In addition to writing for Curious Meerkat, I have also written for New Scientist, BBC Earth, ScienceNOW, Nature, The Scientist and Biosphere Magazine. I’m also passionate about travel, and I write a travel blog focussed on wildlife and ecotourism, Wild World Travel Blog. I also get involved in public engagement activities and occasionally do science stand-up comedy in the UK. You can find out more about all of this at my main website

Freelance Blogging, Writing and Copywriting

Increasingly, I work as a freelance science writer, blogger and content writer, and I have experience of copywriting, proofreading and original writing on science, particularly ecology, evolution, conservation and animal behaviour. My rates are competitive and I am available to work for one-off assignments or longer-term projects. Check out my portfolio for more information. If you’re interested in my writing services, please email me for to discuss a quote.
